Umm Al-Qura University in Makkah offers annually many scholarships for the bachelor’s and master’s levels, as the villages scholarship will be open to students from all countries of the world who wish to study the Arabic language and the foundations and teachings of Islamic law.
It is the department concerned with serving all non-Saudi students who are regular and studying at the university at all university levels.

Definition of the scholarship:

It is a study seat assigned by the university to the non-Saudi student who is accepted to study in the Arabic Language Institute, the undergraduate and postgraduate studies, with the financial benefits prescribed by the system.

The aim of awarding scholarships:

Learning the Arabic language, the language of the Noble Qur’an, and providing him with legal knowledge and correct belief, and then returning the scholarship student after being qualified for the call to the true religion. Or learn applied, social and scientific sciences according to the instructions communicated to the university.

Types of scholarships:

The government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia provides scholarships for non-Saudis to study in Saudi universities, and government grants are of two types:
1- Internal scholarships for non-Saudi students residing in the Kingdom with a legal residency.
2- External scholarships for non-Saudi students from outside the Kingdom.
3- Scholarships in Saudi universities are of three types in view of their various advantages:

Free scholarships in which the student gets all the benefits:

Partial scholarships in which the student gets some benefits, as the educational institution has the right to offer some benefits to the student, such as a seat only, or a seat and housing, that is, less than full free.
Paid scholarships, by having a donor for the student from another non-university institution.

External scholarships (students coming from other countries):

Issuance of residency, and to obtain this service, the student must bring the following documents:
University admission certificate.
The original passport and two copies of it.
Conducting a medical examination at the University Medical Center.
Two copies of the academic certificate.
Two copies of the transcript.
Two copies of the birth certificate of the student.
Two copies of the medical examination that the student made in his country.
Two copies of the criminal record of the student in his country.
Two copies of academic recommendations.
Six (6) personal photos.
Residence renewal: To obtain this service, the student must bring the following documents:
Attendance statement.
Copy of Iqama.
One personal photo.
Issuing an exit and re-entry visa, and to obtain this service, the student must bring the following documents:
Application form for issuing exit and return visas and travel tickets
Attendance statement.
Copy of Iqama.
One personal photo.
Issuing the final exit visa, and to obtain this service, the student must bring the following documents:
University Clearance Form.
Copy of Iqama.
One personal photo

Applying for external scholarships for the bachelor’s stage:

Admission requirements:
The Deanship of Admission and Registration determines the admission requirements.
How to apply:
Log in to the Umm Al-Qura University page and register with the unified admission portal according to the dates specified by the Deanship of Admission and Registration.
Upload the papers through the unified admission portal.
The Deanship of Admission and Registration nominates the names of students to administer scholarships at the Deanship of Student Affairs to submit them through the online scholarship program.
Data shall be submitted to the Scholarships Department in the form of a statement containing the students’ names, addresses, mobile numbers and e-mail, in addition to the student files that contain electronic images of their academic documents.
The Scholarships Department at the Deanship of Student Affairs submits the papers of the nominated students through the electronic scholarship program, and is awaiting the issuance of the final approval.
Upon the issuance of the final approval from the Ministry of Education, the request to issue entry visas to study in the Kingdom is requested by submitting the visa requests through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs website, and by addressing the Ministry of Education Agency for Educational Affairs to authorize the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to issue entry visas to study in the Kingdom based on the applications submitted by the university.
A copy of the final approval issued by the Ministry of Education is sent to the Deanship of Admission and Registration for information and information.
After the student is granted an entry visa to study at the university by the embassies of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, the student purchases a ticket and comes to the Kingdom.
When a student attends the university, his file is received, given a medical examination paper, and directed to the students ’accommodation at the university.
After the student passes the medical examination, he is granted residency and his file is sent to the Deanship of Admission and Registration to start studying after being granted the university number.
The student opens an account in a local bank after taking a statement from the Deanship of Student Affairs, and then the student reviews the Rewards Department at the Deanship of Student Affairs to fix his account number so that the monthly rewards will be disbursed to him, and the arrival allowance (two months reward).

Admission requirements:

The Deanship of Postgraduate Studies determines the admission requirements.

How to apply:
Log in to the Umm Al-Qura University page and register with the unified admission portal according to the dates specified by the Deanship of Graduate Studies.
Upload the papers through the unified admission portal.
The Deanship of Postgraduate Studies nominates students ’names to administer scholarships at the Deanship of Student Affairs to be submitted through the online scholarship program.
Data shall be submitted to the Scholarships Department in the form of a statement containing the students’ names, addresses, mobile numbers and e-mail, in addition to the students ’files that contain electronic images of their academic documents.
The Scholarships Department at the Deanship of Student Affairs submits the papers of the nominated students through the electronic scholarship program and awaits the issuance of the final approval.
